LAMA FOUNDATION, NEW MEXICO
Work has begun on the beautiful dargah which is being raised over the burial place of Murshid Samuel L. Lewis at Lama Foundation. Designed according to principles of Sacred Geometry, and built of long-lasting, largely natural materials with a view toward sustainability and harmony with the environment, the dargah is planned to accommodate pilgrims who will come to pray, meditate, and receive the ever-present inspiration and guidance of this great teacher. You can support this vision by sending prayer and by contributing financially. Read more here.
SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIAWith a timeline of several years in the future, a dedicated team is supporting Murshid Wali Ali in creating a complete biography of Murshid Samuel Lewis, his spiritual guide and teacher. Murshid SAM, born in the West, was recognized in the East as a representative of the ancient Sufi lineages, and was the beloved teacher of many seekers and initiates in the late 60's. His influence can be felt today in the work of the Ruhaniat and the Dances of Universal Peace, and a comprehensive biography is eagerly awaited. Read an autumn 2015 blog entry and progress report -- describing Murshid SAM's healing retreat in 1925, his connection with the Maypole, and the origin of the Dances. (About Wali Ali)
NEW DELHI INDIA:
New report here! The Hope Project, inspired and largely supported by members of Sufi orders, is located adjacent to the shrine of Hazrat Inayat Khan. After four decades of work among the poorest of the poor in New Delhi, the Hope Project is making headway — older girls are returning to school and fathers are engaging in parenting classes around the concepts of good health and education. The Girls’ Non-Formal School attendance has risen to 75 students, and female graduates will be attending college. Young women from the Basti going to college has been a rare occurrence; now it is happening, and over the years, the success of so many in dividuals has changed the perception of the community concerning the importance and relevance of education. The Thrift and Credit microlending program has grown as well, and the Income Generation program is now a profit-making enterprise and has expanded to more people in the Basti who want to learn self-sufficiency. Please donate to the Hope Project at childrensashramfund.org and keep this heartbeat thriving.
SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH:
Pir Shabda writes, "So happy to be back home after nearly a week at the Parliament of World Religions. Since I was made a "Major Speaker" my entire event was live-streamed and now is available for viewing and download!
"Originally I intended to dance for half an hour and then speak for an hour, but I was given a room where we were not allowed to move the chairs, so instead we formed a little Sufi band and sang our Dances. The sound in the room was excellent ...
"We also had many sessions of the Dances of Universal Peace, all very wonderful and well attended. Every day at the Parliament the Sikh community served Langar ~ free food ~ for any of the nearly 10,000 attendees, with so much love and generosity that it always brought tears of gratitude."
The Parliament of the World's Religions was created to cultivate harmony among the world's religious and spiritual communities and foster their engagement with the world and its guiding institutions in order to achieve a just, peaceful and sustainable world. This was the 7th such Parliament since 1893. (About the Dances)

"In the spirit and in the footsteps of Hazrat Khwaja Moineddin Chishti, Hazrat Inayat Khan, Murshid SAM, and all the mothers, masters, saints, prophets, and wise ones, may our collective expression be one of flowing abundance, deep gratitude, and radiant, piercing clarity. Ya Hu! "
